What is Agora Startup House? A residential startup incubator for UC Berkeley students to live and breath entrepreneurship when not doing class work. Now part of Berkeley Startup Housing! What type of projects will you accept? For the 2013-2014 Cohort we are primarily focusing on projects will potential for low-cost and quick scale. Which includes web and mobile, for both the consumer and enterprise market. Do you accept only already formed teams or do you accept individuals? We accept both. One, some or all team members might be accepted to live in the house. We don't require that you already have a team, but demands in individuals for entrepreneurially related activities are higher. Do you accept only projects/startups in progress, or do you also accept ideas? Ideas will also do, and high emphasis will be put on ability to execute - which typically require a team to be rapidly put into action. How long is the program? The program starts in August 2013 and runs until May 2014. Will there be a demo day to present ventures to investors? At the end of the program we will invite mentors and investors to give teams the opportunity to present their work and attract more resources for continued efforts. What are the application requirements? Just fill out the form for now, and we'll get back to you if more documentation is needed. What are you looking for in ventures and teams? We seek complimentary teams with passion. When considering Traction, Technology and Team - most emphasis is put on the Team. How much would the rent be? We estimate approximately between $700 - $1200, depending on the choice between single, double and triple. Final prices will depend on many teams that gets accepted, and how many singles and doubles we decide to have. |
